Bringing Joel Home--Day at Transition House

(November 17th, 2011)

I know that I am missing a couple of days here--you still need to hear about our Embassy Day and our Sightseeing Day...  But our computer that has those pictures on it has crashed and I am hoping and praying that we get those back soon!  Until then, here is the story of our Thursday afternoon in Ethiopia.

My son is a ham.  He is hilarious! He makes the cutest, funniest faces!  By this day, the little guy was starting to feel much better and was doing pretty well just hanging out with us.  These pictures were taking while we were having a little mother/son time in the common room of Grace Guest House.

This one--the sideways glance--is SUCH a common Joel face!

So handsome!!!!

The Guest House had a really amazing third floor balcony.  As you're looking at these and seeing what a NICE place we stayed in, please don't mistake it for "normal" in Ethiopia.  I assure you, we were staying in the lap of luxury by Ethiopian standards.

There was a couple with us who was adopting the precious twin girls that you'll see.  On this particular day, they were frantically checking their email hoping for some news.  Their girls had not been cleared for travel yet and the family was scheduled to leave that evening!  The couple was trying to decide if they should change their flight--or even if they could.  We were all on pins and needles!  Just after lunch, we were all hanging out in the dinning room of the guest house.  The dad got a call.  We all just stopped and stared.  He got the news we were all hoping for!  They had been cleared!!!   A loud shout went out from all of us there and lots of jumping and cheers and tears!  Praise the LORD for the amazing timing of the closure of that case.  What a blessing to have been there to see the finale!  I get chills just even thinking about what an amazing day that was for that precious family!

These are pics of some of our friends that were staying with the guest house with us.  The little guy in the front right is not home yet.  Please say a prayer that he gets home soon (I'm praying for before Christmas)!

The view from the window of the top floor of the Guest House.  WOW!

So thankful that these twins are home with their family!!!

Oh yes, the girls love Joel!

Kasey and Teddy were a great source of laughter on this trip!

We got to go to the Island Breeze again.  YUMMY!  Our favorite place to eat in Ethiopia.  I so hope we get to go again some day.....

On this day, we had planned to go do our shopping.  But one of our friends staying here needed the driver to do some things for her case.  We were glad for a quiet, easy day of hanging out and glad that our friend was able to get some things done!  More pictures to come--if they survive!  :)
