It was the day of yet another trash pick up. (We raise money for our youth camp trip by doing these trash pick ups!) And it was the day we were leaving for Canada! It was fun to see our youth kiddos before we took off on our adventure!
What a lovely morning! Pastor Jon, Teresa, Jarred, Judy, Tommy, Tony and I piled in the church van with the trailer packed full behind us with our suitcases and a bunch of donations for our friends in Canada.
We saw some lovely scenery across our great country. A pretty uneventful ride…until…
The breakdown! We were leaking transmission fluid. Silly church van.
Then there was a lot of this: Time on the phone trying to get someone to fix our van! Thankfully we had service. Just a couple of miles up the road and we would have had no cell service. Lots of friendly Wisconsin people stopped to see if we needed help. “Ahh, Geeze,” they’d say in their lovely accents. It took a while to figure things out, but finally there was this….
And we ended up staying in a SMALL town near Lake Superior. We ate pizza at a local (small) pizza place and then did a little hiking and got to see this…
Check out those clouds over the lake. Very pretty area! And a nice little town.
