(August 25, 2012)
Our sweet girl is now three and a half! We love the girl she is and the girl she's becoming. What a joy she is to us!
-E can ride her bike like a champ!
-She loves swimming in the pool with only a noodle or her life jacket.
-She can almost skip and can jump on one foot really well.
-She is a dancing queen! She has added some lovely jumps and arm movements to her dancing repertoire. (I watch a lot of "dance shows!")
-She has been making up her own songs while she dances. A lot of songs about rejoicing and celebrating and giving thanks to God. Even if she's seated or lying down when singing, there are still lots of graceful arm movements to go with her songs!
-She loves to twirl and twirl and twirl in her twirly dresses.
-She doesn't like to wear shorts. She only wants to wear dresses and skirts... preferably ones that twirl.
-E loves to run. We run around the house a lot and all around the back yard and around the track at her "favorite park."
-She will ride her bike around the basement for such a looooong time!
-Lately, she's been coloring pictures to send to her friends. She's still a great color-er!
-Babies babies babies... Can't go very long with out playing with her babies. She has recently learned what a burp cloth is and how to use it, so she's all the time burping (or changing, or feeding, or tucking in, or singing to) her babies.
-She's been enjoying fixing her mama's hair. Combing it, putting it in a ponytail (aka laying a laying a rubber band on top of my head), and pretending to cut it.
-Sweet girl really enjoys reading books! Especially if it has sparkles on the cover.
-She always wants to have her gum and her lip gloss. Because they're fancy.
-She loves to wear her headband and also likes to have her hair in braids, or french braided "like Auntie's."
-She loves to paint!
-Yogurt, fruit, peanut butter are all favorites to eat! And chips and cookies and candy... of course! :)
-She can climb up ALL the things at her "favorite park" all by herself! (Scares her mama sometimes!)
-She really enjoys other kids her age. Usually will greet her friends with a big hug! (Maddux, Mila, Miry, Dallas, Elijah)
-She can kick a soccer ball pretty well and can hit a little ball with a little bat. But mostly, she's been working on the jumping and dancing! :)
-She wakes early (6 or 6:30) and walks into the living room carrying her bear and pig and dragging her blanket behind her. She always has a smile in the morning... a sleepy one, but still a great one!
-She really likes to be near her mama these days. She wants to be in the same room I am in most of the time.
-She is learning what it means to think of other people.
-She is so very kind to Brother. I often hear her saying, "Good job, Joel!" She loves pushing him around in her baby stroller, or pulling him down the hallway on her blanket. She is always trying to help him, or explain what he is trying to say, or pet him when he gets into trouble.
-On the other hand, she likes to have "time by myself" when Joel is not allowed in her room.
-Still enjoying Dora, Little Einsteins, Strawberry Shortcake, the Lion King, Tinkerbell, Tangled, Curious George.
-She loves anything with Hello Kitty on it!
-This girl still loves to have "school time" with her mommy (though our school time is less now that brother is loud...er, I mean, here)! We're working on recognizing and saying the names of the uppercase letters.
-She really enjoys taking pictures with her little camera and with our iPhone. She takes REALLY good pictures!
-She loves to make castles/tents/rocket ships. There's always a some sort of contraption around the house with chairs, pillows and lots of blankets. Of course the best tents/castles are the ones that are super dark and need a flashlight in them!
-She helps with cooking, helps fold the laundry, wipes off the tables, cleans the mirrors, vacuums (only in one spot), runs the sweeper, helps put up and load dishes, and is becoming really good at cleaning her room. She loves when we fold the towels or sheets together when she is at one end and I am at the other.
-She LOVED the garden this summer. Loved picking cherry tomatoes, loved how big our zucchini plants got, and especially loved the sunflowers!
-Did I mention the castles?! Those are SUCH a big deal right now!
-She has been memorizing more verses. She really catches on quick and enjoys learning them! (Gen 1:1, Deut 6:5, Luke 2:14, Eph 6:1, Eph 4:32, I Chor 10:31, John 3:16)
-She can TELL YOU THE GOSPEL! Lord, please let it resonate in her heart for the rest of her days!
Oh, Little Doodle, you are so very lovely! I am so thankful for the girl you are! Your good attitude makes me want to have a better attitude. Your appreciation for the moon, pink clouds, and the wind are infectious. Your insights about others are humbling. Your goodnight kisses to Joel melt my heart. Your prayers encourage me in my own sincerity. Your kind, thoughtful heart is more beautiful than your cute smile and precious freckles. You are so unique and such an example of God's handiwork. We are so grateful for you! May your heart be captured and rescued by the Great Rescuer. May your light shine before men. May others see Christ in you. May you love Jesus abundantly more than you love the world.
I so enjoyed reading this update, Jenn! I can't believe how much older E looks in these pictures either. You can see glimpses of the gorgeous woman she will grow into before we know it. And I love how joy-filled she is! I hope little Gracie takes after her fellow blondie. :)
