On our daughter's 2nd birthday, we headed off on a trip to meet our son for the first time! Tony's mom and sis came to pick up Eliah (she was going to stay with them for a few days and then with my family for a few days while we were gone) and take us to the airport. It was so hard to say good bye to our little girl and especially hard to leave her on her birthday!
I am not an experienced flyer, but, thankfully, Tony is! He and I were glad to have some time together. We had a window seat and we both loved watching the land disappear and seeing the blanket of clouds below us. How vast is the world that God has created! It was a good reminder of how BIG our God is!
Our first flight from Louisville to Minneapolis was a little delayed and then even after we were finally on the plane, it had to taxi around a bit to burn off some fuel and it got a much later start that we had planned. We were a bit concerned about this since we only had 1 hour in Minneapolis to catch our plane to Amsterdam. We arrived in Minneapolis with only 6 minutes to make it to our next flight. The airport in Minneapolis is huge and it took us about 20 minutes to make it all the way across to our gate. Needless to say, our plane had already left... We had to get the next flight out. Which was exactly 24 hours later. Bummer! We asked about our luggage and they said that it would take about 4 hours for us to get it and then we would have to re-check it again the next day, so we took their strong recommendation and left our luggage with the promise that it SHOULD be on the plane with us the next day. They put us up in a Hilton for the night and gave us a few meal vouchers.
Tony and I were determined to make the best of our time and took a trip to the Mall of America! HUGE! We enjoyed our time walking around, watching the roller coasters at the amusement park, tasting cheese samples, and especially enjoyed the big display at the lego store. We had a nice dinner and were going to catch a movie, but decided our bodies were tired and we headed back to the hotel to get some rest. Overall, we had a very nice unexpected date night!
Praying for your family today. Excited to continue to follow your journey.
