My sweet girl is 2 and a half now. She amazes us with her sweet and gentle personality, her hilarity, and her overall intelligence! :)
-Her vocabulary is extensive and her sentence structure is great at this point. She still has a toddler voice and pronunciation. Her c's and g's come out as t's or d's. God is still "dod" and go is "doe." In the car we hear, "Deen means doe!"
-She can say her ABC's. When she's singing them and gets to L-M-N-O-P, it kinda sounds like "elmo-p."
-She can pick out several letters, E for Eliah, B for brother (only she often says "B, Joel"), D for Daddy, P for Papaw, A for Apple, M for Mama, O for Octopus, U for Umbrella. She is even starting to pick out letters from other things. While riding in the car we heard "E, Lila. On dat sign right der." It was an exit sign. :)
-She can count to 14 perfectly! Then it gets a little funny. "Fourteen, sixteen, eleventeen..."
-She has been using her hands to talk with a lot and it is precious. She holds both hands up in the air and kinda shakes them with the emphasis of her words.
-She still loves taking care of her babies! They're what she wants to play with most often. She feeds them, talks to them, reads to them, washes them, tells them about Jesus, puts them to bed, and is so very tender!
-Her kitchen set is another thing she really enjoys. She is all the time cooking dinner or breakfast for me or her babies. She sits her babies out beside her and gives them books to read and says to them, "You sit lax while I cook dinner" (sit and relax).
-Drawing and coloring are also on the top of her to-do list. She can make great circles and is starting to be able to actually color in an object. Frustration happens when the crayons don't "show up" on the paper (like the color yellow).
-She knows two Bible verses (and would probably know more if her mommy worked more on it!)
-She loves to watch Dora and has recently enjoyed Angelina Ballerina. And Tangled is still a favorite! While watching Dora or Tangled, she'll go get her Dora doll or her "Punz" doll and talk about how there
are two of them!
-Hanging out with her friends is such fun for her. She is very social! She does okay sharing toys and taking turns for the most part.
-Her favorite songs are "The Wheels on the Bus" and "Jesus Loves Me." She also likes "Sally the Camel" and "The Hokie Pokie."
-She is so very helpful! She wants to help me with laundry, dishes, sweeping, cleaning... I really enjoy watching her try to learn how to fold clothes. It's so cute! When she folds socks, she takes one single sock and spends forever folding it up just so!
-She talks about Joel a lot. She knows which toys are his. She talks about sharing her toys with him and teaching him how to talk and walk. She talks about riding in the car with him and prays for him every night. When we sing "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands," we always have to sing a verse that says "He's got Eliah and Joel in his hands..."
-Potty training is going great. She might have about one accident a week and is even sleeping in big girl underwear!
-A few other words that she still says very cutely are "ta-ta" for table, "fe-fe" for finger, "ah-ah" for monkey (as in ooh-ooh, ah-ah monkey sounds), "te-te" for tv. Most other words she says correctly--well, with some toddler pronunciation.
-Her favorite place to eat is chick-fil-a! She eats chicken nuggets, french fries with lots of ketchup and has chocolate milk. She pretends to take her babies there a lot.
-Play-doh, bubbles, finger paint, stickers, are always a hit. She enjoys craft time, and the little pre-school time that we do together where we practice tracing, matching, do puzzles and work on letters.
-She is all the time saying "Mama, you play me?" in the most precious voice that is way too sweet to say no too!
Eliah, we are so thankful for you! We are so proud to have you as our daughter and thankful that God has given you to us! Your personality is so precious to us. You bring us so much joy and laughter! We love to see your beautiful smile!! We pray that you will love Jesus and God's word more than anything in this life. We pray that you continue to love others and treat them kindly! We pray that God uses you in amazing ways!!!! We love you more than words can say!
What a precious girl! I love seeing how very much her momma loves her!
