Camping with the Paynes

A few weeks back, we went camping at Laurel Lake in Corbin, KY, with my parents and my middle brother and his family. The trip did not start out well... Tony, Eliah, and I got to our campsite (which we had to walk to) just as it was getting good and dark. It got better, but it was SO HOT! We picked the wrong time to go camping! We did enjoy the time with the family though...

Elaih looking cute in her camping chair.
My silly husband...

Did I mention how hot it was there?!

Walking down to the lake

Eliah didn't enjoy wearing her life jacket AT all! But she did seem to like the water pretty well. She got to where she would "swim" back and forth between me and Tony.

My cutie, freckled face nephew. He had a fun time... He's swimming like a fish this year! He even jumped off a HUGE rock with my dad and bro. So proud of this kid. I especially enjoyed listening to him practicing his reading before bed.

My cutie, happy nephew, Sam. He played so well with Eliah. He rode his tricycle all over the place, loved roasting marshmallows, and kept asking "why?" to EVERYTHING. Adorable. I love this kid!

My little brother. He's spent the entire weekend being a dork. :) And a good dad to his boys. And a bad card player.

My sis-in-law. What a good sport she and Tom were when Eliah woke them all up early every morning! Isn't she cute?!

Eliah's first time eating corn on the cob. She LOVED it. Wouldn't touch the corn that we had scraped off for her, but loved it on the cob so much that she tried to steal other's cobs!

Roasting marshmallows. We sure didn't need to fire to keep warm. Did I mention that it was HOT!

Can you tell these two are related? They look so much alike. Eliah had such a good time playing with her cousins and her mamaw and papaw.
